Tax Nanny Payroll Services offers a comprehensive payroll solution for small employer's at an affordable cost. Tax Nanny is owned by Top Nanny Ltd, a nanny agency, and we therefore do not pay commission for introductions of our service to other nanny agencies, as other tax payroll companies do for their client referrals. Tax Nanny Payroll Service is designed to be environmentally friendly and as such paperless - which in turn is reflected in our low cost. All our correspondence is by email and not via the postal system. PDF payslips are sent to you immediately by email. Printed versions are available posted 1st class Royal Mail, on security, self seal style forms direct to your employee at an additional cost if required.

Do you offer the same service as other payroll companies?
There is only one way to pay your taxes, and that's how HMRC want you to do it. Our nanny tax payroll training has come directly from HMRC. We register you as a new employer. We calculate your tax and NIC contributions. We then email you a payslip each week or month and advise you how much tax to pay HMRC each month. We electronically produce and file P45, P46, P14, P35 & P60, as well as managing any SSP or SMP for your employee's. We then store your records safely for 3 additional years as required by HMRC.

How long does it take?
We register you with HMRC as soon as we receive your details. It takes 3-5 working days to process your application with HMRC. They will post you your PAYE and accounts office references, as well as a paying in book. If you are already registered, then we can produce payslips and HMRC payment notifications immediately, same day if required.

How does it work?
Each week or month, we email you your employee's payslip (click sample payslip below) which shows all the calculations and deductions. You can advise us either an agreed net or gross salary. You can change the salary at anytime, add overtime, make deductions for unpaid days etc. We will also email you every quarter (monthly if selected) your P30 employers payslip. This shows the total amount to pay HMRC (employee tax & NI as well as employers NI) You pay your employee the net amount and arrange to pay HMRC by the given date on the P30. We calculate any necessary SSP or SMP, issue a P45 when your employee leaves as well as a P60 at the end of the year. Furthermore your dedicated payroll manager is able to answer any statutory employment questions you may have or point you in the right direction, if it falls outside his expertise.

What are your support times of operation?
Telephone assistance is available Monday to Thursday 1000-1630hrs and Friday 1000-1400hrs. Email assistance is available from 0700-1900 hrs Monday to Friday and 1000-1400 hrs over the weekend. We aim to answer all email enquiries within 24 hours but in reality this is within 1-2 hours, during normal working hours Monday to Friday.

What if I change my employee during the year?
There is no additional cost to change your employee. We will issue a P45 for the employee that leaves and process your new employee that joins with HMRC. However, if your new employee is to cover either a long term of sickness or a maternity period, this would constitute an additional employee and as such a reduced fee of only £59.99 is required.

What about online filing?
We are registered with the government gateway. We always submit online P46 & P45's as well as your P14 & P35 to HMRC as part of your annual fee. Mandatory online filing is now required for any P14 & P35 annual return and from 2011 for P45 & 46's.

You can of course do it yourself
You have to register as an employer and set up a PAYE scheme on behalf of your nanny with HMRC. Complete a P11 and keep full tax records. Supply your nanny with regular payslips showing tax and NI deductions made.  Process and file various forms including P45's, P60's and the employer's annual returns.  Operate Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) and Maternity Pay (SMP) if applicable. For any errors that you may make and  underpay your tax liability, you will be charged interest on the balance. If you file your annual return after the deadline (May 19th) you will face an automatic penalty. £100 for every month it is late being filed. Mandatory online filing is now required, or we can do it all for you!
